The term Therian refers to a variable species of humanoids containing animal traits. They originated from human experimentation and eventually overtook the population through a combination of overbreeding and forcibly converting humans into Therians in the distant past.
Currently, they are the only remaining remnant of humanity on Elan, with original humanity having been eradicated in the Fall of Cruor.

- Therians have a humanoid body, most particularly in regards to their arms and torso. Their faces and legs take on characteristics of whatever animal(s) they are mixed with.
- They always have a mane of humanlike hair on their heads, and have a crystal embedded somewhere on their bodies.
Their crystals contain higher concentrations of Ether than a human is able to contain, augmenting intelligence and physical prowess. They are also the source of a Therian’s life Ether They will die if their crystal is shattered. This vulnerability, however, is difficult to exploit as these crystals are extremely durable.
The subraces were established as the main forms of Therians countless years ago. Even with the interbreeding that goes on between them, Therians are still able to maintain this variety due to their genetic structure, which causes the child to always inherit the species of the mother, with extremely minor traits from the father. It takes an extremely long time of interbreeding for species to combine and homogenize.
- Leucrotta: Canine, feline, or rabbit-like Therians. Many will have a combination of all three.
- Zu: Avianlike Therians. May have mild reptilian traits.
- Griffin: Leucrotta/Zu hybrids. They combine mammalian traits with avian traits.
- Dragonoid: Gets its own page.
Due to the interconnected nature of their society, Therians have only two languages. These are:
- Zoroastran - Basically English.
- Warski - A Russianlike language. Spoken exclusively by Warska.
Due to their lengthy seclusion from the rest of society, humans spoke their own language, Cruoran. It is a Germanlike language that is nearly extinct.
